Chaos as Power Cut Causes Flight Cancellations and Delays

Flights have resumed from Manchester Airport's two main terminals after a major power cut caused widespread disruption on Sunday. Approximately a quarter of all flights from the airport were canceled, with many more delayed.

Delays and Diversions at Terminals 1 and 2

The power outage, which occurred at around 2:30 pm, affected Terminals 1 and 2. All flights from these terminals were canceled or delayed, with some diverted to other airports. Passengers were advised to check with their airlines for the latest information.

Terminal 3 Remains Operational

Terminal 3, which is used by airlines such as Jet2 and TUI, was not affected by the power cut and flights continued to operate as normal. However, passengers were advised to expect some delays due to the increased traffic at the terminal.

Chaos and Crowds in Terminals

Passengers in Terminals 1 and 2 faced significant delays and chaos as a result of the power cut. Videos shared on social media showed large crowds of passengers waiting in darkness, with many reporting delays of several hours.

Power Restored, Flights Resume

Power was eventually restored to Terminals 1 and 2 at around 6:30 pm, and flights have since resumed. However, passengers are still advised to check with their airlines for any potential disruptions.
